Tacoma Police are trying to identify two bank robbers who hit the same branch of the Columbia Bank in the 200 block of South 84th Street. The first was on Tuesday, March 28 at 1:15 p.m. The suspect is described as white, in his late 50’s, approximately 6-feet tall with a medium build and gray hair. “He had a handgun concealed under his jacket. He entered, went directly to the teller and said, 'Give me all the money.' He put the money into his pockets and then he fled the area,” said Officer Loretta Cool with Tacoma Police. "He certainly is 'armed and dangerous.' He entered a bank with a gun. He used that gun to commit a crime, which means that he wouldn't probably hesitate to use the gun again."
The second robbery, which detectives say is not connected to the first one, happened at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, March 31. The suspect described as a dark skinned black male, 20 to 25 years old, approximately 6-feet feet tall with a slender build and acne pock marks on his face entered the store wearing aviator style sunglasses, a bright orange beanie cap, a gray suit jacket and dark blue polo shirt. "He gave the teller a note and demanded money. The note said he would shoot if his demands weren't met. He got the money and he casually walked out of the bank,” said Officer Cool.
Crime Stoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 if you can identify either of the suspects. Call the hot line anonymously at 1 (800) 222-TIPS (84777. These are two of the cases being featured this weekend on “Washington’s Most Wanted” airing Friday at 11 p.m. on Q13 FOX and Saturday night at 9:30 pm on Joe TV and 10:30 p.m. on Q13 FOX.
