If each day has 24 hours, then you spend a third of it at work. That may not seem much, but you know that you should have eight hours of sleep. You now have eight hours left to do other things such as traveling, house chores, visiting friends and families, among others. So if you think about it, you spend a large part of your energy and time on your job. It will be great if your Downtown Orlando office space gives you something to look forward to every day. That will make a lot of things easier to digest. That is not impossible to do. If your organization cannot do it for you, make the effort to improve your work environment. Here are some suggestions:
Declutter
Before you leave your house, do you think about how your desk will greet you when you arrive at the office? Will you be seeing a messy or a clean desk? Of course, you should prefer the latter. A messy desk can symbolize a lack of organization. This is very much like an email inbox that has not been opened in a while. You have to wade through a lot to get to something meaningful. Your desk is the same. The clutter you have there can be things that you can actually throw away, or it can also be your tasks that are piling up.
A clean desk is a more engaging sight. When you are welcomed by a sight like this, you won’t have to think about where to put your stuff or how to clean the mess. You can start being productive right away. Also, try to aim for cleanliness before you leave work. It will be a reminder of your accomplishments for the day.
Exercise
With the amount of time that you spend at the office, you might as well just call it your second home. Time is precious, and so is health. If you are always using the lack of time as an excuse for not working out, then try squeezing in some exercises at work. For sure, you have spacious floors where you can do those exercises. These can also break the monotony of work, which can also be unhealthy, as it can lead to a sedentary lifestyle.
If you want, you can bring in some smaller equipment. Dumbbells are small enough to be stashed away almost anywhere, and they can help you build muscles for your upper body. This time, you should be looking for an excuse to be active.
Be Creative
There are offices that allow you to decorate your work station. If yours do, then plan on how you can spruce up the look of your desk. Think about the decorative stuff you can have there. The challenge is how to do it all without compromising the professional look. If you are not allowed to touch your station, you can always let your creative juices out by drawing. A notebook or sketch pad should be small enough for you to keep at the desk. So if your hand is itching to make some art, just flip some pages and start drawing.
Life is what you make of it. If you are in an environment that you are getting tired of, you have the power to make things better. A little positive attitude can go a long way.
